Team LACBC: 2019 Season Headed Our Way!

Training rides for our 2019 Team LACBC season begin on Saturday, January 19! Sign up to stay in the loop:

LACBC Training is free and open to anyone who is serious about getting stronger on their bike. Membership is strongly encouraged! Our season is robust, starting in January and lasting through July. We start with weekly Saturday rides and progress to Saturday and Sunday rides starting in May. Nearly all rides come with a choice of a no-drop “Classic” route or a more challenging “Advanced” route. With route options progressing in difficulty over time, just about any kind of rider can benefit – from seasoned vets needing a few extra miles to new riders looking to conquer their first real climb. Whatever your goal, LACBC Training will get you there. Join our Facebook Group for up-to-the-minute updates!

About Climate Ride:

Climate Ride is a non-profit organization that organizes  biking and hiking events to raise awareness and support sustainability, active transportation, and environmental causes. As part of Team LACBC, riders raise funds to support safer biking in LA and climate sustainability. While Climate Ride California Coast is our most ridden event, Team LACBC is also sending squads to Death Valley in March and New England in September.

2019 marks the 7th year of Team LACBC’s participation in Climate Ride. Our 2018 team raised over $140,000 for a better environment and safer biking in LA! Team LACBC first formed in 2012, and has become legendary for being the most spirited and the successful fundraising team on the ride.

How It Works:
When you join Team LACBC, a portion of the money you raise will support LACBC’s work to make LA County a healthy, safe, and fun place to ride a bike. It is important to note that you must select Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition as your SOLE beneficiary. This is because beneficiaries receive a percentage of the amount raised. After you finish registering, you are provided a personal fundraising page to begin collecting donations.

Each rider has to raise a minimum of $3,000. If that sounds intimidating, don’t worry! We have lots of experience in this area and can help you reach your fundraising goals. We also offer great incentives for reaching fundraising milestones, as well as perks you can offer to the individuals and companies who contribute to your ride. Trust us: you can do it.
