BIKE PARKING FOR BUSINESSES

City-Owned Sidewalks:
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) provides free bicycle parking installation on city-owned sidewalks. Upon requesting a bicycle rack, a member of the LADOT will visit the site to insure viability of installing bicycle parking at the requested location. Restrictions apply on sidewalks with parking meters. If site is approved, orange paint will be sprayed on the sidewalk indicating area for installation, with the bicycle rack to be installed at a later date.

Business owners may request sidewalk bicycle parking be installed in front of their business by filling out a brief request form at:

www.bicyclela.org/RackRequest.htm

There is currently a wait list to have bicycle racks installed while the LADOT negotiates with new contractors for bicycle parking installation. Requests for bicycle parking will be added to the wait list in the order that they were received. The LADOT will not be visiting sites and marking sidewalks until a new contractor is settled upon.

For further information on the bicycle parking wait list and bicycle parking program, please contact Michelle Mowery, bicycle coordinator at the LADOT: 213.972.4962 or Michelle.Mowery@lacity.org
