"I just want to let you know that it was the best bike ride I have participated in yet! I have had my share of century and 70 mile rides and this one by far is the best one yet! The markers out in the street..... OMG..... you must have had some very dedicated staff or volunteers take the whole day to lay those out in the street and it was the first time I have ever experienced that. I didn't even need the guide because it was all there on the street..... how fantastic! Only if all rides were like that. The t-shirt and the medal!!!!! Wow!!!!! Thank you guys so much for making this event the best one yet!!!!! Now my team is interested in participating in next year as well, but do you guys have other events that you host, because if they are anything like this....... count us in..... sign us up........ you guys really rocked! Oh almost forgot, the photographer was perfectly positioned and we knew when to smile. Awesome! Please let me know if I also need to fill out a survey or if you can just forward this email to the people that laid out the markers and all the great volunteers at all the pit stops! Without them the rides would be NO FUN!"

Sunday's River Ride was the first for me. I went on it with my two teenage
boys and we all had a terrific time. Thank you to all of you and to all of
the wonderful volunteers who helped make this happen. What a great day it
was!
Again, thank you all,
- Kevin H.
This ride was the best yet. other than some badly needed "patch-up " spots on the bike path (close to Firestone Blvd.), it was excellent!!! I appreciated the shirts, food, and more importantly: medals! It was a very well-organized ride. Thank you for the great experience.

YOUR RIDE MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
SUPPORT THE COMPLETION OF THE L.A. RIVER BIKEWAY
The L.A. River Ride is the signature event of Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, the only non-profit organization representing the over 3 million bicyclists in L.A. County, working county-wide to improve conditions for bicyclists while building community life in the area.
Your participation makes a significant contribution to LACBC's efforts to complete the L.A. River Bikeway from the San Fernando Valley to Long Beach, and to make bicycling safe and enjoyable for everyone. The river ride also benefits : Eliya and Moms In Motion.
DID YOU KNOW?
L.A. County ranks number one nationally in traffic congestion and fuel waste with an annual cost of $10.7 billion. And, L.A. ranked 3rd in America's fattest cities in 2006 by Men's Fitness magazine, while L.A. County's children are tied for the most obese in California.
BUT, by using a bike instead of a car just one day a week, the average American would save $609 in gasoline, maintenance and depreciation costs per year, reduce emissions by 24 pounds per week, and burn an extra 1315 calories at a 12mph pace! ( Bicycling Magazine)
"Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race." H.G. Wells
