What was the Enhanced Public Outreach Plan? In 2003, LACBC and Metro received a Community Based Transportation Planning Grant from Caltrans to increase the level of public input for the upcoming countywide Bicycle Transportation Master Plan (BTMP). Public input was gathered through bicyclist surveys and public outreach at over 50 events around the county. The survey, in English or Spanish, was made available by mail, on-line, and at outreach events in communities targeted based on income levels, transit use and bicycle use. The final report, the Enhanced Public Outreach Plan, was finished September 2004 and is now available. The report can be used in many ways to increase the ability of traditionally disenfranchised communities to influence bicycle policy and infrastructure development. Download the REPORT (PDF 5.6MB)
